Antimicrobial agents refer to chemical substances that can maintain the growth or reproduction of certain microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, yeast, algae, viruses, etc.) below necessary levels for a certain period of time.
What are the most commonly used industrial antibacterial agents?
Antibacterial agents are divided into four categories: organic antibacterial agents, inorganic antibacterial agents, polymer antibacterial agents, and natural antibacterial agents. The commonly used antibacterial agent is inorganic antibacterial agent, which is currently the most widely used variety in China. Please analyze these four categories in detail!
1、 Organic antibacterial agents
At present, organic antibacterial agents on the foreign market are mostly organic nitrogen-containing ion compounds, which are structurally similar to anti-static agents, such as organic iodides, organic chlorides or their complexes, as well as amino acid metal salts.
2、 Inorganic antibacterial agents
Inorganic antibacterial agents are prepared by loading antibacterial metals onto a certain carrier through ion exchange, adsorption, alloying, or chemical reactions. At present, titanium based antibacterial agents and silver based antibacterial agents are widely used. Titanium based antibacterial agents are mainly composed of materials such as TiO2 that can be activated by photocatalysis; Silver based antibacterial agents, this series of antibacterial agents is currently the most widely used variety in China.
3、 Polymer antibacterial agent
Antibacterial polymer materials are obtained by introducing antibacterial functional groups, which can be classified into quaternary ammonium salt type, quaternary phosphine salt type, guanidine salt type, pyridine type, and organic metal copolymers according to different functional groups. Antibacterial functional groups can be introduced by homopolymerization or copolymerization of monomers with functional groups, or by grafting.
4、 Natural antibacterial agents
Natural antibacterial agents are refined from plants and animals, and currently the focus of development is on ultrafine chitosan powder, chitin, and other materials.
